Like samestory said, the PSU is WAY more than enough.

For the fan, this would have to be my favorite choice. Newegg.com - Thermaltake CL-P0257 Blue orb II CPU Cooler for LGA775 & K8 - Retail
I got one a couple rigs back, I LOVED it, it was soooo quiet and cooled the hell out of my CPU, only downside is that it was pretty big...

And for the RAM, if you can fit it into your budget, I'd get a more known brand, also if you get 4 sticks of 1 GB ram, it'll have better memory management and thus better performance. I'd go with something like this. Newegg.com - Patriot Extreme Performance 4GB(4 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Quad Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

since this thread is pretty active, help me out...

Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS2 DHX 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

Newegg.com - OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB(2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail

which one? i can OC the ocz one, or should i just go with the cosair, since it comes like that stock? and do the heat pipes help a good deal?

it's a step up from the 8800gt, and it competes with the GTX, even beating it sometimes.. and if you OC, it beats it for sure. and it's a cool card, as in not hot. and OC's well. though the 8800gt is all you really need for everything atm, except really crysis, but nothing is really crysis suited.
Ok I'm interested but please explain, is this card better than my current card? I'm confused as my current card is 1GB and that card is 512MB. Will it give me better performance in Crysis (yes this computer is being built around Crysis guys )

And BTW, Kev told me that Corsair is better in RAM...just my cents.

damn, i didnt see its 1GB. a reviewer said he didnt notice a difference between the 512 and 1gb though..

honestly, i don't know. i've never heard of palit or w/e, so i dont know if i'd go with them. the cards not on newegg, so i can't compare to well either.

Cosair is good in ram, but so is OCZ, i've read nothing but positive about them.

*edit: palit is supposedly a great brand overseas, and they've recently come to north america*

k i looked it up a lil, and no games really need 1GB. the 1GB still has the stock memory clock and core clock, while the one im talking about has faster, as it is it's bigger brother so to say.

you can overclock the 1GB version, but still, if you overclock the one im talking about, it'll still go faster. the 1GB is future proof, although you'll probably be looking to go for the 9 series by the time you need it.
