Suggestion to prevent bots - PSP-Forum.com

As you all know and seen in the past 2 weeks there has been a series of bots in our forum. I have a suggestion to prevent bots from registering our site.

The idea is simple but effective. On the register section of the site. There should be a area where the person (bot) has to type some letters or numbers (code) eg. A1f25F. A bot cannot do this because the numbers and letters are unique.

Im not sure if you noticed that the whole forum has changed?

Or if this is an old post which has just come up for some reason i dont know.

I checked the registration and it has image verification, and i have had no signs of bots since the change.

I just come across a bot, which is cool seeing as it is the first apart from that jessie person who i think was a person, since the forum changed.

No matter what, there's gunna be bots. Rather it be a few than many at a time like it used to be.

It's because the site's called PSP forum, simple for coders!! If it was called jimmenybillybobherewego-okyall.com we'd have none!

I dont think the domain name makes much of a difference, as when i was reading about that phpbb bots work, they search a database of sites of something, but it wasnt looking at domain names.
