lol, I was kidding about that last part sorta. But that turned out to be the major point of the thread. :P

I know we have enought mods, but still, what's up with all the bots recently?

Maybe... can't remember if I cleaned that up or not. I think that was the day the The Juggler and I deleted like 30+ posts and threads of spam lol.

And Pagnell might have found out a way to stop some of the bots. From now on, you have to activate your account from an email in order to become a member (like many forums).

I was, the dude made about 52 posts I think. EVERY ONE of them were the same pictures. Not that I checked or anything. :lol:

Also, Weezer, that wasn't in before? I coulda sworn it was.

Another thing you could do is have the security codes.

The email confirm will work alot, security codes for signing up will work too but we will have to get the owner to make that change.

We have decided to try out the email authenticity thing to start with and see how that effects the bots and stuff.... so far I believe it has worked a treat.

Well, I turned on the email authenticity and it seems to have done some good but hasn't gotten rid of it altogether (which it was never going to). However, we would have had a whole lot more if it wasn't there.

The problem is if someone is determined to post spam and porn, there is only so much that can be done. And in that case a username/ip ban and deletion of the posts/threads is all that can be done.

why don't u create a thread for SPAMMERS, just like u did for New-gen console, i know it seems stupid, but it could be done so that whoever wanna spam should go and spam there, and then leave their spams for whoever wanna access. . ..
