What I liked the most about Charged is that it's not your typical crazy button masher. It's actually this wierd, fast-paced nice take on football that's kind of intuitive, but mostly just really fun. It actually has some depth in the gameplay and there is actually some strategy too it, although some Captains are unfortunately a bit unbalanced. Being the first online game we got over here, I really played the hell out of last summer (I even got "Striker of the Day" on that online menu twice!) and I have mostly good memories, and thankfully the online worked really well. Seamless, little too no lag in most cases, but of course everyone's favorite friend codes did ruin half the fun but still, as far as online gaming goes on the Wii it worked.
My biggest problem with the game was the fact that it was just barely a step up from the Gamecube game graphic wise, which is a let down. While the Wii doesn't have the power of it's competitors (and by competitors I mean not-really-competitors-because-Nintendo-aren't-really-in-the-same-industry-anymore) it sure as hell can outdo the Gamecube. And of course how many of the stadium effects that the game had were annoying, dumb and in many ways reduced the strategic element of the gameplay and turned the entire match into "Who's feelin' lucky?"
But yeah, liked that game for about the 2 weeks I played it, but it's nothing I'll be going back too.
