Another random piece of knowledge is that coca cola used to be the largest profit making firm in the world.

Even if Microsoft has more revenue than Sony, a lot of the revenue has to go to workers and other expenses such as donations, so they would not have enough money to buy Sony, which will cost far more than their annual revenue.
