No idea if the DVD player is dual sided or not.
I believe both consoles have some great ideas and great titles, I am sure, will be available for both. I look forward to owning a PS3 at some point too.
As it stands I am VERY much impressed with the 360.... just the same as I was with the original Xbox... the original playstation never really grabbed me like the 360 has because I think I was more into PC's then and had high end graphics cards etc so the Playstation never really rocked my boat... made lots of money with games though  ... never had a PS2 but a few of my mates did and they said it was a great bit of kit.
I believe that companies cannot promise to stick with a product line for five years as the market changes so quickly that they would be commiting industrial suicide if they just stood still for five years.... think this was just a statement to encourage customers to buy the product.
Dirtbiker has some points to his posting I must admit.... the shody way SONY has handled the situation with the trading company (Lip sat Sonk or some such tea  ) is just dispickable... but yet again perhaps we are not privvie to the whole situation.
Different ploys are used by many firms to drum up sales especially on new models of what ever manufactured product.
Do you think the 360 was rushed? man if that's the case I wonder how much more AWESOME the unit would have been if they had taken their time with it.
