You are right I do not know you... in the same way I do not understand the blinkered attitude

You did state that the 360 is screwed for now because it used old 5 gig dvd technology.... it does not take any leap of faith to read into that statement that you believe the 360 is outdated with old technology... Perhaps I read too much into your written words or perhaps one should be more precise when writting such words

In the begining there was media on tape then floppy disk then SD hard floppies and the HD floppies LS120 floppies etc... and each time the media became too small for the 'data' they either devoloped bigger media storage or they 'packed' the data to make room.... think of it as a garage... if you have a double garage and some junk to store you just toss the lot in and shut the door as you lnow you have lots of room.... peek inside and the floor is covered with junk... to all intensive purposes you have filled the room of the garage..... now start again but this time with a single garage... instead of tossing the junk in you think about how it will best fit.. you put things inside of other things (imbedding) and when you have finished you realise that you actually HAVE room left... unlike the just throw the junk in technique.
The point I am trying to make is that you should not discount the hardware so fast.... but on the otherhand no matter what hardware is in a new machine it is out of date by the time it is established. And as you said over the next 5 years!!!! in 5 years time the PS3 will be outdated... hell so will you

I understand what you mean about how game developers can fit more into a 5GB DVD, and by all means the games on the 360 are awesome for their size...but still notice how I said

...they're screwed for now...

I know Gates will find a way to squeeze more into the DVD's, but it will never amount to the size of an HD-DVD or Bluray disk...if Microsoft hadn't rushed out the 360 then this problem wouldn't have occurred...

Oh and I said 5 years because Sony has already promised to stay with the PS3 and not make another console for another 8-10 years...

On a side note - is the 360 capable of reading dual-layered Dvds?[/quote]
