Sigh...
Code lyoko is a show currently on Cartoon Network's Miguzi. (Which is actually a ripoff of toonami)
Lyoko is about a few kids who found a giant factory with a supercomputer. They can 'scan' themselves in and fight/move around in a virtual world. They must fight an evil virus name "Zana" (SP?) to save their own world.
.hack// is a whole final fantasy style series that involves a whole lot of crap. I think there are 7 games, 3-6 novels & mangas, 2 TV series, and 4 OVA's. There might even be more.
It's mainly about a MMORPG that becomes the most popular in the world. After a recent 'internet wide' crash caused by the virus "Pluto's Kiss" people are just starting to bring the security up to acceptable levels. The MMORPG, ironicly named the World, was created for a purpose other than gaming.
A vagrant AI, the Key of the Twilight and many other enigmas wandering in the game are spotted by players. What do they have to do with each other? (Well, .hack// is very ambiguous about 'storyline and plot') A virus/evil AI (named Morganna) is rapidly infecting the World and players are falling into a coma.
So there you have it, a brief (and badly written) summary of both of the series...
