I used to have a DSL modem for my Verizon connection, before I got the new Fiber Optic stuff. While I had that modem, I also had a D-Link Super G Wireless Router. The Router also acts as an access point, and to make the router work with other computers, you either need to directly connect PCs to the back of the router, or buy wireless cards specifically made for that type of router and install them on the PCs.

You can only set up an internet connection for your PSP with your PSP. The router installation and all that has nothing to do with the PSP itself.
