Hi mate.

If you are currently looking for a sony psp unit (jp) and you need to buy the unit from someplace in a close proximity from where you live, I can't help you. However, if you have some cash to spare and you need it in a hurry, I suggest that you get one from Singapore.

The Singapore PSP (Jp) value pack retails at approximately S$ 435 (Singapore Dollars). I got mine for only S$400 Sing. Dollars, after haggling the price. I believe this is the best possible price you could get for this unit. The cost for the PSP (US) would be around S$350 (Thats the price I preordered it).

The Jp edition charges perfectly with the power socket, and I have not had any problems with it, period.

Unless you plan to watch UMD movies on your PSP, the PSP (Jp) does not really differ from the US version. It has been confirmed with Sony that PSP videogames are region-free. Only UMD movies comes with a region-lock feature. In my opinion, I'm rather sure that MODS would be available to enable region-free UMD playback in the near future.
