Sorry for the late response. I'm leaving to go to a school for two months. It sucks because I haven't seen my wife since January and I have to go straight to Oklahoma and then to California, then straight back here. I'm going to try to fly her out there while I'm in the US though.
I joined the Marines because I thought the whole camradere concept was pretty cool. My dad was a Marine too and it's pretty much what I grew up with. Turns out to be the best decision I could have ever made.
They did pay for my college too. I have an AA and I just got my BA from East Carolina University last year.
I dig it but it does sort of suck right now because I do happen to be stuck behind a computer. Every now and again I'm asked to ride "shotgun" on a HMWWV, but not often. Other than that, about the only dangerous part of all this is the incoming rockets. They don't usually hit anything though.
