Invisible Folders
Hi and let me just be to the point. :-)
I just purchased a PSP, the seller has installed the cfw (3.80M33-5), and when I first connected it to my notebook, AVG 8.0 detected every single thing in the PSP's memory stick (ISO.exe, GAME.exe, PSP.exe, PICTURE.exe, VIDEO.exe, etc) as worms.
I thought 'tis was just the AVG acting up and I disabled the avg and double clicked the PSP.exe (but it didnt execute any program it just opened the ISO.exe like it was a folder with all the ISOs it contains), and suddenly the notebook slowed down to the point where I can do naught.
Then I rebooted the notebook, activated AVG, and a worm (VGOD.DLL) was found to have infected the notebook... the worm was killed but the damage has been dealt.
So after all that, I scanned the memory stick again, and deleted everything that was detected as threat by AVG. In the end, only the ISO folder was left behind. All ISO files remain intact.
However, there is something else, it seems the other folders (VIDEO, PICTURE, PSP, etc) are still in the memory stick, its just that I cant see them, just to say it, I still can use the PSP to play ISO games fine, no problem at all, it's just I can't update the firmware, since I cant see the PSP folder (but its there!).
Any help on this is very much appreciated!
