Ok so thats the AC socket disqualified. Out of interest, why did it need to be replaced?
Another theory is this battery you have wedged in, are the 3 pins straight? Also the cover, apart form being there for aesthetics, it helps keep dust and dirt out of the battery compartment - So are the gaps where the 3 pins connect to the battery free from dirt?
Else i have no idea wtf is goin on
